Filmmaker Herman Yau is crazy busy this year as the prolific director has assembled a whopping five films for release this year. From White Storm 3 to Death Notice to Raid on the Lethal Zone, Yau is packing one hell of a punch in action cinema and now he has two more upcoming including Customs Frontline (although that one might be pushed to 2024) to this month’s Moscow Mission which stars iconic actor Andy Lau (who seems to be the Frank Grillo of Asian Action) who’s on a train bound for action and intrigue when political tensions give rise to a heist.
Asian Film Fans has a brand new English subtitled trailer for you to peek at which showcases the extreme adrenaline in store for genre fans of Asian Action Cinema. Take a look below!
Official Synopsis: Set in the early 1990’s after the dissolvement of the Soviet Union, criminal enterprises between China and Russia flourished. On the train that services Beijing to Moscow, a gang of criminals perform a heist, stealing cash and goods. A Chinese police officer, disguised as a businessman, takes charge to lead the operation to arrest these criminals, but uncovers a wider conspiracy. This movie is based on a real-life case.

Lau stars along with Zhang Hanyu (The Captain, Chinese Doctors), Huang Xuan (Battle at Lake Changjin, Legend of the Demon Cat), and Janice Man (Fireflies In the Sun, Lost in the Stars).
With the SAG-AFTRA strike ongoing, at least we fans can still expect new output from over seas and Asia is kicking ass in that department. Moscow Mission looks like a heart pumping thrill ride and any action contained to a tight space like a train is always exhilarating in my book and this one looks to give Mission:Impossible a run for hrs money.
Moscow Mission hits on September 29, 2023!
