The Action Elite Live: The War Room Returns! Let’s Talk JCVD’s DOUBLE TEAM!

By: John M Jerva

After a few months off, Eoin over at The Action Elite has returned with his live podcast The War Room. What better film to talk about on this episode then the crazy 1997 Jean-Claude Van Damme film Double Team which paired the Muscles from Brussels up with the most unlikely of partners in former NBA superstar Dennis Rodman. What could possibly go wrong?

Filmed when JCVD was having some behind the scenes personal issues, Double Team was originally supposed to be called The Colony and the original script was more serious than the comic book type film that eventually made it into theaters. This was Hong Kong filmmaker Tsui Hark’s English language debut and it also features the elusive Mickey Rourke as the main villain. This one had everything including the kitchen sink in it and I have to say it also contained one of the best product placements ever seen in a movie at the end. If you’ve seen the movie, then you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Even though the movie had its issues, it’s still a fun time with some kick ass action and some over the top moments. Eoin and J-Man discuss the film in length and also manage to put in some other topis per usual so check out the latest episode of the Action Elite Live: The War Room below!

I’ve been honored to be a part of Eoin’s show in the past but have had to go on injured reserve due to my disorder but I’m looking to make my comeback in the future. There’s nothing like talking action films with good friends to help me get better.
