We have some stellar Scott Adkins news for you in that Variety is bringing official confirmation that Screen Media Films has acquired the upcoming single take action-thriller One Shot which hails from director James Nunn and stars a eclectic action cast including Scott Adkins and Ryan Phillippe. This one is on my must watch list at the highest level and it includes the two best things I look for in a movie…Navy SEALS and Scott Adkins!

Per Variety: Filmed, “Birdman” style, in a single continuous take, the aptly named “One Shot” follows an elite squad of Navy SEALs on a covert mission to transport a prisoner off a CIA black site island prison. They become trapped when insurgents attack in an effort to rescue the same prisoner. Led by Lieutenant Blake Harris (Adkins), the team, including Deputy Site Manager Tom Shields (Phillippe), must trust the secret intel of Junior Analyst Zoe Anderson (Greene Khoury) in order to deliver the prisoner and thwart a pending terrorist attack on Washington D.C.

The film also stars Ashley Greene Khoury and this is the third time Adkins has worked with Nunn also starring in Green Street Hooligans: Never Back Down and Eliminators. We also have a brand new image from the film which highlights Adkins and Phillippe which you can view below!

“We know audiences are going to be blown away by the action that James and his cast and crew have captured here. It’s a relentless, visceral, and thrilling movie that we cannot wait to show off to fans,” said Screen Media.

The script was penned by Jamie Russell and it’s a very ambitious undertaking where the film is shot “oner” style or one continuous take without edits and it unfolds in real time. The action set pieces will definitely be the draw here and hopefully Adkins will combine both Gun Fu and Kung Fu in this one. Stay tuned!
