We have some acquisition news for you today and it concerns action superstar Scott Adkins as his newest and upcoming thriller Take Cover is being delivered at this week’s European Film Market (EFM) for potential distribution buyers. Signature Entertainment is readying the film for interested distribution companies and I’m thinking this one will be nabbed in record time. The movie sees Adkins playing a burned-out sniper who gets more than he bargained for when he’s targeted for termination by a fellow assassin. Making matters worse is the fact that he’s trapped in a building that is literally all windows providing no cover whatsoever.
The announcement comes with a brand-new image of Adkins who plays the role of Sam as he is eyeing his next target for termination. The pic comes via Signature, and you can check it out below!
The report comes via Screen daily and the site offered up a newer synopsis for the film as well. “Signature Entertainment is continuing sales on action thriller Take Cover, starring Scott Adkins and Alice Eve, directed by Nick McKinless and produced by Ben Jacques. A burned-out hitman finds himself trapped in a glass penthouse by a lethal opponent.”
From a script written by Joshua Todd James, Take Cover has a pretty impressive supporting cast that includes Alice Eve who is best known for movies like She’s Out of Your League, Star Trek Into Darkness and Men in Black 3. This is the directorial debut for McKinless who has served his stunt talents well on films and series like Fast X, Gangs of London and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
In terms of action, this one looks to be more of a suspense thriller but fear not as Adkins is always known for putting in his signature action featuring his mad martial arts skills and more. McKinless is another one in the current trend of stunt pros turning to filmmaking like directing and writing. This does bode well for the action as he has been around for years and has a great eye for detail when it comes to onscreen mayhem.
