Well here’s some news that is both great and not so great at the same time. According to Screen Anarchy.com, international action star Tak Sakaguchi’s RE:BORN is finally set to make its North American debut this November! Unfortunately, the premiere is set for the horror streaming channel Shudder and not a proper Blu-Ray or DVD release like I was hoping. I guess having it hit the U.S. is a blessing none the less but here’s hoping that we still get a hard copy release in the near future.

RE:BORN (premieres Thursday, 11/7)
“Toshiro, a former special forces operative, now lives a quiet life in the Japanese countryside. Despite his seemingly peaceful existence, Toshiro struggles to contain the destructive impulses that once made him the top soldier in an elite unit of killers. When his former commanding officer, the enigmatic Phantom (, comes out of the shadows seeking revenge, Toshiro goes on a kill-crazy rampage against a squad of ruthless assassins, with a dazzling display of close-quarters martial arts. The film has received a great UK release a while back which included a Blu-Ray, DVD combo pack but I guess they feel that none of us here in the States want anything to do with that. Oh well, I can always hope. Looks like I’ll have to subscribe to Shudder to finally see the damn film so I can enjoy it and do a rousing Action-Flix Approved (I’m Sure!) review of it.
RE:BORN is ready to unleash on Shudder starting on November 7th so do me a favor and watch it so they know we want to see these kind of insane action films here in the U.S.
