ITRAILER TACTCIAL REACTION: After months and months of speculation, Marvel Studios has finally given us a little taste of the end to come with a MCU Apocalypse which looks to rival Infinity War. Keep in mind that this is a first trailer and with that, its job is to simply provoke enough excitement while only giving us a tiny sample of what is to come when you sit down in your theater of choice and view the film. With all that said, this is the perfect trailer to launch the promotion train and while many have said that it’s underwhelming, they are clearly missing the point of the initial first trailer. I had the biggest smile on my face from start to finish and what they showed was enough. From the assembling of heroes and characters meeting in live action that we’ve only seen in the comics to our first look at Doom himself and hearing RDJ’s voice for the first time, this is a graphic novel size chef’s kiss.
Also, can I just say that seeing Shang-Chi throwing down with Channing Tatum’s Gambit was worth the look alone along with the original X-Men assembling for battle one last time. Let’s not forget the return of bad ass Thor and the sight of him going for the head only to be stopped by…two friggin’ fingers. Simply spine tingling. Then there’s the ending of the trailer. Two simple words…“Hey Pal,” and with that two of the MCU’s OG heroes are reunited and it feels so good. I’ve been reading comics since I was maybe four and watching this trailer was like being four again. The Russo Brothers have never missed while directing an MCU film, so I say in The Russos I trust. There will be several trailers for Doomsday before the release in December and I feel each one will build to a pulsating crescendo, and this film will hit the right emotions like Infinity War did with Secret Wars delivering like Endgame did.
The Doomsday clock is ticking and I’m on board until the very end. Fuck the haters.
