At this point, I feel that I’m going to wake up each and every day to a new trailer for a shark thriller. Don’t get me wrong, I eat this stuff up (pardon the pun) and I love spending time with my oldest daughter when we watch them because I’ll admit it…we love them.
Well, what could be better than a new movie with sharks in it. Well, how about a new shark thriller starring the one and only Antonio Banderas, action star and filmmaker Louis Mandylor and directed by action maestro Jesse V. Johnson!

During a Mexican shark dive, 5 friends are ambushed after discovering cartel cocaine. Trapped in a shark cage, Tatiana & Kaley are forced by the cartel to go in & retrieve a bag of drugs on the seafloor. Battling legendary Great White sharks, dwindling air, and armed killers, the survivors mount a brutal fight to outsmart their captors and escape.
Jesse V. Johnson helms from a script polished by Anthony Steven Giordano. The full cast includes Christina Ochoa, Laura Marano, Timothy V. Murphy, Louis Mandylor, Jess Liaudin, Ryan Bertroche, Ramiro Alonso, Diego Llinás, Rodrigo Poisón, Mario Tardón, and Donncha Tynan.
TRAILER TACTICAL REACTION: This year alone, we have received a bevy of shark themed thrillers. There has been Deep Water directed by Die Hard 2’s Renny Harlin, Netflix’s Thrash and Chum which stars one of my favorite’s actresses in Alice Eve. These movies can be a dime a dozen but with Johnson at the helm, Banderas and Mandylor doing what they do best on camera and plenty of shark carnage, this one has the ability to more than stand out and rise to surface. Plus, I’m pretty sure Johnson will employ some of his tactical expertise and heavy powered weaponry to the film’s action sequences and the shark effects look horrific and bloody brutal. Mostly known for delivering brooding and brutal bullet riddled crime thrillers, Johnson looks to spice up the waters here and give his fans something they can really sink their teeth into. Mr. Johnson, you have my attention.
