Action and martial arts star Michael Jai White is back in action and he’s bringing the pain and the funny for his latest action-comedy Special Op: Rent-A-Cop! White stars as a former special forces operative who faces his greatest mission yet when he is forced to take a job protecting a group of senior citizens who show no intensions of slowing down in their golden years. Also starring are genre icon Billy Zane (Titanic) as well as UFC Champion Chuck Liddell.

The film follows legendary Special Forces Operator Brock Belfry (Jai White) after he is discharged from service following a severe injury on the battlefield. He is forced to accept a job as a security “rent-a-cop” escorting a bus load of unruly senior citizens to Atlantic City. The trip goes from challenging to worse as Brock realizes he is simultaneously being tracked by an old nemesis, who has dispatched a bumbling kill squad to take him out.
Jim O’Heir (PARKS AND RECREATION) and Colleen Camp (CLUE) also star. William Butler wrote and directed the film which is now available on Digital and VOD launch next week on April 14th from Cineverse.
White’s new film showcases a harmless and fun looking film that looks to play on White’s comedic strengths as well as his elite action skills. There are ample examples of some solid adrenaline to coincide with the laughs and while this one won’t win any awards, fans might just find something to enjoy with this one. White can carry any movie he is in and teaming with genre icon Billy Zane as well as Chuck Lidell only looks to strengthen what might have been a forgettable flick.
