All hail the king baby. Prolific VFX artist and filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki returns to bring us a direct sequel to his Academy Award winning epic Godzilla Minus One. The stakes are even higher and there’s something even more terrifying than Godzilla and the line has been drawn as the world faces an unimaginable horror once again. Godzilla Minus Zero continues the story and now witness the return of Armageddon in the first official look!
GODZILLA MINUS ZERO picks up in 1949, two years after the tumultuous events of Godzilla Minus One, and continues the story of the Shikishima family as they face an all-new calamity. Additionally confirmed out of CinemaCon, Ryunosuke Kamiki, the hero who faced Godzilla’s terror in Godzilla Minus One, returns as Koichi Shikishima, and is joined by Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi, who miraculously survived Godzilla’s first attack on Tokyo.

As a project Filmed For IMAX, GODZILLA MINUS ZERO was shot with high-definition digital cameras certified by IMAX, and optimized in sound and imagery unique to IMAX screens. Fans can look forward to seeing Godzilla presented to all new terrifying heights, making GODZILLA MINUS ZERO in a true cinematic event not to be missed.

Trailer reaction for the quick 48 second teaser warrants just enough to get the blood pumping and not one but two massive looks at Godzilla with one having the iconic Kaiju rampaging next to the Statue of Liberty. An iconic shot to say the least. As a fan of Godzilla from childhood, I can firmly say that these films are the best of the best in the decades long running franchise. I thought they wouldn’t be able to surpass the first film but it looks like I was happily wrong in my initial opinion. Bring it on!
Godzilla Minus Zero hits theaters and IMAX on November 6th!
