The Disney+ Marvel series have certainly been hit or miss ever since their conception and fans are looking to hopefully find some light at the end of any tunnel when it comes to the limited series. It’s true that Secret Invasion was grossly mishandled and it alienated viewers even more, but I will say that Daredevil: Born Again has been a favorite of mine even with the divisive reviews on that one but it managed to keep what was great about the original Netflix series and do its own thing.
Now with today comes the first look of the new series Ironheart and all I will say is why aren’t we getting Armor Wars? I digress though and will give this one a shot like I always do and here’s the new trailer for your fanboy consumption.
Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Television’s Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago,” the official synopsis reads. “Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos).

The cast of Ironheart is headlined by Dominique Thorne who takes center stage as Riri Williams in the series which also includes Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White. Thorne debuted as Riri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and now she has a whole series to herself. No pressure at all but word is that the OG Iron Man himself Robert Downey, Jr. is pulling for her and the show so that’s some serious backup. Ryan Coogler, who helmed both Black Panther films, serves as an executive producer on this one so some of his magic might rub off on the series.
There was also a behind the scenes video launched a day before which highlights some of what went into the making of Ironheart and the legacy of its lead character Riri Williams. Check it out below!
