I know a lot of people are skeptical about the new Daredevil: Born Again series with its behind-the-scenes drama and the fact that it’s now on Disney+, but I must say that I am putting my faith in Marvel and judging from what I’ve seen so far, it looks like a homerun. Promising a more violent tome than its Netflix heyday and even more heavy-handed drama, this looks to be in the vein of some of cinema’s most electrifying vigilante thrillers with its comic book roots firmly in place. Charlie Cox and the original cast are back and thank the powers that be, especially Kevin Feige, for stepping and retooling the show when he saw that it was going severely in the wrong direction.
A new TV spot has surfaced a day ago which highlights even more action and dark vigilante tropes with Cox going all in once again as the titular comic book crime fighter. Add in the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher and this is one of my most highly anticipated selections of the year in movies and TV. We also get a brief glimpse of the newest version of castle’s skull (scroll below to view) which excites me and I see myself getting yet another T-Shirt to add to my collection. Check out the new spot below!
Daredevil: Born Again sees Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson who return as Karen Page and Foggy respectively along with Wilson Bethel who is back as Bullseye. Other cast members include Margarita Levieva, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, and Ayelet Zurer. Dario Scardapane serves as the showrunner with episodes directed by Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Dario Scardapane, Matt Corman & Chris Ord, and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead.

The new spot also highlights some important plot threads including Fisk’s rise to political power and his battle with vigilantes as well as Matt Murdock’s inner struggle with his other persona in light of nefarious happenings in between this series and the Netflix show. Regardless, the devil of Hell’s Kitchen is back and he’s swinging through the city utilizing his iconic billy clubs which is straight out of the comics!
