I knew there was a reason why I delayed the Essential Adkins edition of The Weekly Intel as we have yet another new film project for action icon Scott Adkins. The human special effect is teaming with Hollywood heavyweight Djimon Hounsou (Rebel Moon) for a new martial arts infused actioner titled One Last Fight. Sweetening this announcement is the fact that Adkins is reuniting with his Undisputed and Ninja franchise director Isaac Florentine to bring this bare knuckle epic to life. I’ll pause for dramatic effect here…
OK, moving in…
Variety broke the news today as the film is being brought to the European Film Market for distribution deals via Brilliant Pictures which is based in the UK and Rome and has assembled worldwide sales rights for the upcoming project.

Per Variety, One Last Fight tells the story of “a British ex-Muay Thai champion turned instructor Marcus (Adkins) and his wife Ammara, who are running a training camp in Bangkok. While mourning the loss of their child, Marcus discovers that Ammara’s younger brother Chet, a promising Muay Thai boxer, owes money to a local crime boss — forcing him to participate in a series of brutal underground fights orchestrated by charismatic Nigerian gangster Tiga (Hounsou). As Marcus tries to help Chet get out of trouble, he is coerced by Tiga into replacing Chet in the illegal arena, plunging him and his family into a dark world of visceral violence with much more at stake than he’d ever imagined.”
Karim Chériguène and Yvan Gauthier penned the screenplay which sees Rafael Primorac (Game of Death, The Perfect Weapon) and Yvan Gauthier (I Am Wrath, The Poison Rose) producing. Brilliant Pictures’ Sean O’Kelly (Deep Fear, Damascus Cover) and Marc Bikindou (Black Dahlia, Deception) will serve as executive producers.
One Last Fight will roll in front of the cameras this May and will shoot on location in Thailand.
This continues the extremely busy schedule for Adkins as the action star has completed the recent action flicks Skyline: Warpath from filmmaker Liam O’Donnell and reunites him with his Triple Threat co-star Iko Uwais, as well as Reckless and Day of Reckoning which teams him with Billy Zane.
Adkins is also set to finally star in Kickboxer: Armageddon with franchise and action star Alain Moussi and martial arts icon Mark Dacascos. It was also announced this week that Scott will headline the new action-thriller Breaking Cover reteaming him with his Legacy of Lies Director Adrian Bol. Adkins is officially the hardest working action star in action cinema today.
Adkins refuses to slow down, and his legion of fans can expect a cavalcade of his signature Adkins action for years to come. One Last Fight promises to be a “slick, edge-of-your-seat action thriller” and will “elevate the martial arts movie genre,” according to the article and I must say that I believe them with the talent involved.
the last time Adkins and Florentine collaborated was on the 2020 thriller Seized which also starred Mario Van Peebles. Even though it didn’t reach the heights of their other efforts, it was still a solid and enjoyable action film with blistering sequences of Adkins doing what he does best. Check out the footage from that movie below!
