Seeing Hollywood and action icon Sylvester Stallone trying new things at this later stage of his career is certainly welcoming. Sly is taking chances while at the same time preserving his bravado and machismo that he has been known for decades and one of his best roles to date has definitely been that of Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi on Tulsa King who is an old school mobster trying to adapt to an ever-changing world. the first season of the Paramount+ drama was a perfect blend of dark humor, drama and action leading up to this new season which will see Sly go up against two of my favorite character actors in Neal McDonough, and Frank Grillo as a war on territory is set to rage. Check out Sly and company inn action below because the boss is back baby!
Season 2 Synopsis: In season two, Dwight (Stallone) and his crew continue to build up and defend their growing empire in Tulsa, but just as they get their bearings, they realize that they’re not the only ones who want to stake their claim. With looming threats from the Kansas City mob and a very powerful local businessman, Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York.

The ensemble cast includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Vincent Piazza, Tatiana Zappardino, Annabella Sciorra, Domenick Lombardozzi, Andrea Savage, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany. McDonough is set to play the ruthless, powerful businessman Cal Thresher while Grillo plays Bill Bevilaqua, an equally violent and cutthroat Kansas City mobster who wants a stake in Tulsa. Who knew Oklahoma was so popular with the criminal underworld. Seeing Sly take on both McDonough and Grillo is worth the price of a Paramount+ subscription alone!
Tulsa King, of course hails from television guru Taylor Sheridan and his ever-growing popular Paramount+ streaming content that includes 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Other future projects include Landman as well as a second season of Lioness (formally known as Special Ops Lioness) and 1923 which is another saga in his hit Yellowstone franchise.
