I have mixed feelings about the latest Toho offering of Godzilla coming soon to theaters. I’m a fan spanning over four decades and while I enjoy all the movies featuring the King of Monsters, I’ve always been more of a fan when he’s on our side. From the great 70’s that served up massive helpings of cheese to Final Wars to the Legendary Pictures Monsterverse, I’ll always enjoy a heroic Godzilla over a villainous one anyway.
Make no mistake, I’m still overly enthused about the newest Japanese offering titled Godzilla: Minus One but alas our boy is going to be in a bad mood once again leading to some mass destruction and rampaging action set pieces.
The new movie is set to hit theaters in Japan on November 3, while we over here in the West will see a release on December 1st.
A new image has hit worldwide from Japan’s SCREENa magazine (via Kaiju News Network), and this is the best view yet of our epic monster to date as he is decked out fully on the cover of the magazine. Does his feet look rather large even got him or is that me. Take a look below as well as another image that dropped a while back featuring Godzilla amping up to let loose a volley of radioactive fire!

Godzilla: Minus One is helmed by Takashi Yamazaki, and this marks Japan’s first full on live-action Godzilla movie after Shin Godzilla debuted back in 2016. Like previous Japanese entries, expect a heavy dose of Kaiju smackdown coupled with some over the top human dramatics.
Per the title, this film is said to be a prequel of sorts or a full on reboot as Godzilla is appearing before the 1954 entry. Anyway you slice it or stomp it, it still looks ambitious and laced with decked out fan service.
With Legendary Pictures launching the event series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters in November as well, it’s a fantastic time to get in touch with your inner child and prepare yourself to enjoy mass amounts of carnage. Let’s not forget Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire that is ready to hit next year on April 12th barring any interference from the actors strike. Adam Wingard returns to helm as the sequel features the two iconic beasts facing a new threat.
Hail to the King baby!!!! Lock N Load right here for more Kaiju Intel to hit soon as we are your action fix!!!!
