Action Fix Podcast Review: THE WEAPON Boasts a Solid Anti-Hero in Tony Schiena in an Unfortunate Mediocre DTV Actioner
It’s a week in since I had my shoulder surgery and the reviews are starting to flow through me and next up on the Action Fix Podcast is the newly release The Weapon starring Tony Schiena, Sean Patrick Flanery and Cuba Gooding Jr. Schiena has always been one of my favorite action tough guys and I feel he is severely underrated in action cinema. Unfortunately, The Weapon which he also directed, shows its low budget and never rises above its muddy plot. Check out what else I have to say on this episode of The Action Fix Podcast!
Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire), Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints), and Jack Kesy (12 Strong) highlight this bone-crunching action thriller. Tony Schiena is Dallas, a one-man killing machine on a mysterious rampage. His attacks on biker gangs and meth labs anger the Vegas mob boss who’s holding Dallas’ girlfriend hostage. But who is Dallas working for? Even torture won’t make him talk, and he won’t stop until justice is served. Also stars Academy Award nominee Bruce Dern and Annalynn McCord.
Tony Schiena, AnnaLynne McCord (TV’s “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”), Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints), Jack Kesy (Deadpool 2, TV’s “Claws”) and Cuba Gooding Jr. (TV’s “American Crime Story,” Jerry Maguire) star in the gritty action thriller THE WEAPON, is now available in select theaters, on demand, and Digital from Lionsgate. The film will also be available on DVD March 28.
