Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: The Newest Trailer Showcases a Much Darker MCU Entry!

By: John M Jerva

Coinciding with the Super Bowl, Marvel Studios and Disney has issued a brand new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which showcases a much darker picture for the anticipated sequel as the Multiverse is ready to play havoc with the world as we know it. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as everyone’s favorite wizard. Check out the new footage along with key art below!

In Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams.

The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

Just like what transpired before Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, there is a deluge of rumors circulating this one as well. My favorite is that Tom Cruise is going to debut as a newer version of Iron Man. It’s fun to listen to all the hoopla but I always take it all with a grain of salt until I actually see the damn movie.

It does, however, look like the integration of the X-Men has begun as that is clearly Patrick Stewart as Professor X in the trailer. Only time will tell what surprises will behold us come May but this one is looking to keep the momentum of No Way Home rolling.

I’m most excited to see a clash of two versions of Doctor Strange that immediately radiates a Superman III vibe. Even though that entry was maligned by a lot of people, I loved that plot point of it. Here it looks like a nice homage to past comic book films so bring it on. This MCU entry definitely looks like it’ll change the landmark going forward for future releases.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases the power of the Multiverse on May 6th exclusively in theaters!
