Casting News: Winston Returns for JOHN WICK 4 & Zorro Joins INDIANA JONES 5!

By: John M Jerva

Thursday night sees myself playing catch up after a mush needed vacation and with that I have two high profile casting notes to hone in on today.

First up, although it’s not a surprise but Winston himself is officially confirmed for John Wick 4. That’s right. Ian McShane will be back for another go around at The Continental which comes on the heels that his right hand man, Lance Reddick’s Charon will also return.

“I couldn’t be happier than to welcome Ian McShane back to John Wick: Chapter 4,” director Chad Stahelski said in a statement. “He is not only an amazing actor but is an indispensable collaborator who has helped define the world of John Wick.”

Of course, John Wick 4 has officially become the must see event of next year with confirmation that every action star will star in the new entry. OK, not everyone, but it will have Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins and most recently Marks Zaror along for the action drenched ride.

The release date, as production is now well underway, is May 27th. A date I’ve had marked for quite sometime now.

McShane returns to The Continental and Banderas joins Dr. Jones

The second big piece of casting news is that Zorro, aka Antonio Banderas, has officially signed on for Indiana Jones 5 with Harrison Ford who just recently celebrated a birthday.

The role is an undisclosed one of course for the moment just like the plot is unknown but we do know that Logan’s James Mangold has taken over in the director’s chair for Steven Spielberg.

Other noteworthy casting additions include Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, and Shaunette Renée Wilson. We don’t know who they’re playing either.

All we do know at this point is Ford was injured on set and filming continues as he heals up. Ford’s on set mishap hasn’t affected any release plans that we know of. The date as of now is July 29, 2022.
