I’m back from vacation and let’s talk comic book adaptations! Netflix’s subsequent mishandling of their Marvel series is still making fanboys reel as they long to see the return of most of them sans Iron Fist, although I did enjoy both seasons of that one as well so sue me. To cushion the blow, the defunct DC Universe created some pretty rad shows of their own including Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn and of course their inaugural effort Titans.
The definitive adult atmosphere of the series was refreshing as well and Titans kicked a lot of ass in both its freshman and sophomore seasons. DC Universe is now just a digital comic book site but the DC originals have migrated to HBO Max except for the cancelled ones… yeah I’m talking about the awesomely horrific Swamp Thing. The fact that that series was cancelled before it even started was a true crime.
With that, we have the return of season 3 of Titans which is reeling from the events of season 2 and Jason Todd’s death and the awesomeness that was Deathstroke. Even though the Terminator is absent here, we have the emergence of Red Hood to fill the void
New key art and a teaser that promises heroes will have to rise or Gotham will fall have just arrived and are now available for your viewing pleasure below!
Returning cast members include Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Anna Diop as Kory Anders/Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth/Raven, Ryan Potter as Gar Logan/Beast Boy, Conor Leslie as Donna Troy/Wonder Girl, Curran Walters as Jason Todd/ Red Hood, Joshua Orpin as Conner Kent/Superboy, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall/Hawk, and Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger/Dove.
Be cast additions feature Damaris Lewis as Blackfire, Savannah Welch as Barbara Gordon, Vincent Kartheiser as Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow, and Jay Lycurgo as Tim Drake.
The above trailer is certainly enough to wet the appetite so mark August 12th firmly on your calendar as HBO MAX will launch the first two episodes back to back before releasing one a week every Thursday until October 21st!
