Just the other day, I was thinking to myself, when was the last time I saw a new Asian martial arts thriller that rivaled those when Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais came into existence? You know the ones I mean. The ones where it looks like there were mass casualties for the cast when filming was underway because the action set pieces were literally off the chain.

Well I have my answer with the announcement that Well Go USA is readying for release a new bone smashing, gravity defying martial arts epic titled Silat Warriors: Deed of Death (love the name BTW). Formally known as Geran in its native Malaysia, the movie looks like it is locked and loaded with amazing fight action that will have to be viewed on multiple occasions.

The award winning film is set to hit the company’s HI-YAH! streaming service exclusively this June ahead of a Blu-Ray/DVD rollout in July so check out the official press release along with the original Malaysian key art and trailer below!

When their younger brother brings a ruthless criminal gang to their door, a family must fight together against the threat in the action-packed martial arts epic Silat Warriors: Deed of Death, which will debut exclusively on the martial arts streaming service Hi-YAH! on June 4, before hitting Digital, Blu-ray and DVD July 6 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

In addition to actors Namron (One Two Jaga, Dukun, Redha) and Fad Anuar (Dollah Superstar, TV’s KL Gangster: Underworld), first-time film director Areel Abu Bakar selected much of the talent from martial arts training facilities and competitions in order to give a sense of realism the exciting action sequences. His first-time actors include Khoharullah Majid, Feiyna Tajudin, Taiyuddin Bakar, Megat Shahrizal and Azlan Komeng.

Silat Warriors: Deed of Death won the Daniel A. Craft Award for Excellence in Action Cinema at the 2020 New York Asian Film Festival, the first Malaysian film to win the award.

Synopsis: When a reckless young gambler’s wild lifestyle of illegal gambling, drag racing, and betting on brutal street fights pits him against a ruthless criminal betting ring, his luck finally runs out. The gang shows up at his family’s home to collect on the debt, forcing his family to fight in order to save their land and his life—before their limited time runs out.

As the release gets closer, you can expect Well Go USA to unveil new key art and a domestic North American trailer so while we wait, check out the insane balls out action in the Malaysian international trailer below!
