Well we haven’t exactly seen a whole lot from the Sony Pictures video game adaptation Monster Hunter which stars Resident Evil’s Milla Jovovich and action star Tony Jaa and due to the pandemic, we’ll have to wait even longer as the film has been delayed till next year but Sony has released a lengthier synopsis for the film. If the film was still hitting theaters this month we would have seen it already but I guess this’ll have to do until we get a trailer.
Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity.
When an unexpected sandstorm transports Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.
The film also stars Ron Perlman, T.I. Harris (Ant-Man and The Wasp), Diego Boneta (Luis Miguel, Rock of Ages), as well as Meagan Good (Code Black) and Josh Helman (X-Men: Days of Future Past). Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil franchise) directs and also penned the screen play which is the first feature film for him since he finished his blockbuster franchise Resident Evil which also starred Jovovich.
MONSTER HUNTER is expected to now be released in theaters on April 23rd, 2021! Hopefully a trailer hits soon as people’s interests are probably waning at this point.
