Superstars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt are yet to be seen in Disney’s Jungle Cruise which will hit theaters hopefully in July but the duo are already set to reunite to star in the comic book adaptation Ball And Chain according to Deadline.
Per the site, “Ball and Chain follows Edgar and Mallory Bulson, a married couple who have decided to throw in the towel. However, their lives are flipped upside down when a mysterious meteor bathes the couple in extraterrestrial energies, giving them super-powers that only work when they’re together.”
The Big Sick’s Emily Gordon is penning the script and word is that the project is being shipped around and Netflix, who has seen recent success as if late with their big films like Extraction, is rumored to be in the front of the line to ban the film.
Jungle Cruise is one of the few titles that are seeing a July release this dummer as the first wave of films to hopefully relaunch the theaters after the shutdown but only time will tell. The film is set to release on July 24th. Check out Johnson and a Blunt in action from the Disney flick below!
