Liam Neeson isn’t saying goodbye to action films just yet as more word comes down that he is starring in two new thrillers called Honest Thief and Memory which the latter will be helmed by Martin Campbell. Neeson always brings a sense of bravado with his action roles so this is certainly welcome news hit fans.
First up is Honest Thief which Deadline brought the word. Per the site: Directed by Mark Williams, co-creator and producer of Netflix series Ozark and producer of Warner Bros’ The Accountant, Neeson stars as a bank robber who tries to turn himself in after falling for a woman (Walsh) who works at the storage facility where he’s stashed his money. Complications ensue when his case is turned over to a corrupt FBI agent (Courtney) and he must go underground to save both himself and the woman he loves.
Then we have Memory which sees the return on Director Martin Campbell. The director is best known for helming the 007 pic Casino Royale as well as The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Bronson.
Once again Deadline dropped the 411 and this one sounds like Neeson will be dusting off his particular set of skills which he acquired in the Taken franchise.
Per Deadline: Pic is based on the 2003 Dutch film The Memory Of A Killer, Dario Scardapane (The Bridge) has written the screenplay for the English-language version.
Neeson will play an expert assassin with a reputation for discreet precision who, when he refuses to complete a job for a dangerous criminal organization, becomes a target and must go on the hunt for those who want him dead.
Memory comes from STX which also announced the Gerard Butler action vehicle Remote Control. All news is coming out of Berlin and the European Film Market which was held last week.
