VFW: Aging Vets Led by Stephen Lang Take on Mutant Thugs in the Official Trailer!

By: John M Jerva

We finally have our first look at the new action-thriller VFW, which has a great retro 80’s action cast led by Stephen Lang in a film that has aging war vets taking on a group of mutant thugs as the prior’s VFW becomes under siege. This one looks all kinds of kick ass so take a peek below and get ready for some maximum carnage.

A typical night for a group of war veterans at the local VFW turns into an all-out battle for survival when a teenage girl runs into the bar with a bag of stolen drugs. Suddenly under attack from a gang of punk mutants looking to get back what’s theirs – at any cost – the vets use every weapon they can put together to protect the girl, and their VFW, in the biggest fight of their lives.

Per EW: “It’s a classic siege movie,” says director Joe Begos. “Mutant punks versus Vietnam vets, which to me are the two coolest sets of characters you can have in a genre movie. So, to be able to pit them against each other is a cinematic playground for me.”

Lang leads an all-star Ass whooping lineup which includes Die Hard 2’s William Sadler, Martin Kove, George Wendt and the still cool as ever Fred “The Hammer” Williamson. This is great casting to say the least and if anyone can take on mutant drug addicted killers, it’s these guys. Well Norm from Cheers might be a wildcard but we will see. Also starring are David Patrick Kelly, Sierra McCormick, Tom Williamson, Travis Hammer, and Dora Madison. Joe Begos helms from a script written by Max Brallier & Matthew McArdle.

VFW is set to hit theaters as well as Digital and VOD starring on February 14th because why not Valentines Day for a film like this! Check out the insane trailer below!
