This sounds like it will be interesting and a helluva lot of fun as The Hollywood Reporter is bringing the word that both John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds are looking to team up for a new fantasy comedy titled Imaginary Friends.
Word has it that Paramount Pictures is poised and ready to walk away the winner in a bidding war for the film which will see Krasinski direct, write and produce as well as star alongside Reynolds. Paramount beat out several companies in the battle including Lionsgate, and Sony Pictures. This one sounds pretty damn cool if you ask me.
Per THR: “If the deals are made, Krasinski will write, direct, produce and star and Reynolds will co-star in the Dr. Dolittle-like tale of a man who can see and talk to people’s imaginary friends, befriending those that have been forgotten or discarded. However, some imaginary friends, lacking love and friendship, turn to the dark side, and it’s up to Reynolds’ character to save the world from those that become evil.”
Krasinski has established himself as quite the director lately after helming the megahit A Quiet Place which is releasing a sequel as well. Paramount released that film and was keen on keeping Krasinski in their circle as they are extremely high on him.
Reynolds is also set to star in a reimagining of the classic A Christmas Carol which will see him star opposite Will Ferrell. Reynolds also has the kick ass looking 6 Underground coming in December which hails from director Michael Bay which will steam on Netflix exclusively in December. I was also able to see an Exclusive sneak peek at his other film Free Guy at NYCC which looks pretty sensational. That movie is due out next summer. Both Reynolds and Krasinski are on fire right now do teaming them up is a no brainer.
