Suit Up! THE MATRIX 4 Enlists Neil Patrick Harris! (Update: Jada Pinkett Smith in Talks to Return)

By: John M Jerva

Update: Just saw a few moments ago courtesy of Deadline that Jada Pinkett Smith is in talks to return to her role of Niobe who was the commander of the Logos. Smith appeared in the sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. If the deal happens, she’ll be the third returning cast member after Reeves and Moss. Stay tuned…

Smith in the original series of films

It’s time to suit up people as Variety is reporting that actor, Emmy winner and comedian Neil Patrick Harris has been tapped to star in The Matrix 4 along with franchise originals Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. Harris joins fellow newcomer Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who was announced last week for a major role as well.

Unfortunately that’s all the real news we have as Harris’ role is being kept under wraps as the plot and other details are non existent at this point. Matrix co-creator Lana Wachowski returns to helm the film and is also coming-writer on the script along with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell.

Production is set to begin in early 2020 and given how the last film ended, it is unclear where the franchise will take off to next. We do know that Laurence Fishburne is not reprising his role of Morpheus and that they may be looking at a younger actor for that role.

Keep it locked and loaded right here as more secrets are surely set to hit in the future!
