As an action genre super fan, I am always vigilant on all things pertaining to action maestro Jesse V. Johnson. The one time stunt master turned director has unleashed some of the best the genre has to offer incluidng Savage Dog, Accident Man, Triple Threat and now his latest endeavor which reunites hime with his Pit Fighter star Dominiquie Vandenberg. The film, once titled Legion Maxx, is now called The Mercenary and it stars Vandenberg in the hard hitting tale of a soldier looking for redemption and having to kill a lot of people to get it.

Vandenberg recently posted the news on social media that the movie would be delayed from an initial summer release to help promote it a little better and now we have official confirmation that it will debut in the UK at the Fighting Spirit Film Festival. Check out the announcement below!

Announcement: We are screening The Mercenary at#FSFF2019

Redemption isn’t free
Maxx is a legionnaire turned mercenary. When a mission in South America goes wrong Maxx is left for dead, but he is nursed back to health and reborn with a new outlook on life. He tries to live tranquilly within the confines of his new beliefs surrounded by his new friends at a church. But his peaceful days are short-lived when mercenaries he used to work with cross his path again and he is forced to revisit and face his own demons. His brutal past, war and violence have come looking for him again. His path to redemption is interrupted and Maxx becomes an avenging warrior using the skills that were his trade. The director of Triple Threat, Accident Man and Avengement, Jesse V. Johnson’s most hardcore action film to date.

Starring along with Vandenberg is the always dependable Louis Mandylor who has also worked with Johnson on The Debt Collector and Avengement.
