ESCAPE THE HUNGER! A ZOMBIE outbreak has hit Manhattan and the whole city is rapidly overrun! From writer Tom Waltz, who is best known by fans for Wolverine: Blood Hunt and TMNT: The Last Ronin, comes a new dawn of action and horror emerging into one epic blood fest. The artwork is handled by Jaime Infante who is making his Marvel debut here. His artwork and visuals is the perfect complement to Waltz’s dark and brooding storyline and features a no holds barred style fans will eat up (pun intended). The cover art for issue 1 was created by Tony Parker and it features a brutally striking image of The Punisher taking on a Zombie Iron Man as other former heroes lurk in the background.
Marvel Zombies: War Zone #1 is set to hit comic bookstores on September 2, 2026, and the limited series will run for five blood soaked and bullet riddled issues of vigilante and superhero carnage that is unrivaled. Fans of both The Punisher and these iconic superheroes can expect to get their fix of blood splattered carnage and horror level theatrics with The Punisher taking on what was once Earth’s greatest heroes in a Manhattan on the brink of an Apocalypse.
It’s certainly a great time to be a Punisher fan as this limited series is only one of a bevy of titles Marvel is unleashing with the gun toting vigilante. He also has his own long running series as well as another limited series titled The Punisher: Showdowns where he takes on the best of the best that the Marvel universe has to offer. The Punisher is also taking on The Hulk and Spidey in the limited series Spider-Man: Long Way home as well as battling the Wall Crawler in the limited comic series The Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Frank will also tussle with Deadpool in an epic crossover event titled Big Guns which will hit in September also. Let’s not forget Jon Bernthal’s live action take on The Punisher returning in Spider-Man: Brand New Day which is the hottest film in history right now. Add in his recent one-shot Disney+ special One Last Kill and the iconic killer of killers is everywhere right now.
