You had me at this…

That’s right true believers! Spider-Man is back and what else could he do for an encore after the record-breaking last movie then battle what else, ninjas! Oh, and Jon Bernthal is back and in full effect as Frank Castle/The Punisher as Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have officially dropped the brand-new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day! Check out the long awaited first look footage and witness your friendly neighborhood web slinger taking on The Hand, Scorpion and The Punisher! By the way, no one remembers who he is so there is also that!
After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.

Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Brand New Day also boasts a sensational cast including Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, with Zendaya back as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) also stars in a secret role although everyone is saying that she is the new Jean Grey. Severance‘s Tramell Tillman and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas are new additions to the franchise with Michael Mando reprising his role of Mac Gargan/Scorpion from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Let us not forget that Mark Ruffalo is also in the fray as he returns as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and Marvin Jones III reprises his role of the villainous Tombstone in live action after voicing the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) officially directs his newest MCU pic with Chris McKenna supplying the screenplay. Marvel Studios ace Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O’Connor produce, and Louis D’Esposito and David Cain serve as executive producers.
The trailer didn’t have enough Frank, but I get it as this is Spidey’s thing, but you can’t fault me in complaining as I am a massive fan of the gun toting vigilante. Seeing the awesome spectacle of Spider-Man taking on The Hand is just pure fanboy ecstasy so July 31st cannot come fast enough. The fact that Peter is mutating is sure signs that the MCU is starting to infuse the X-Men into the mix so bring it on!
