What do you get when you merge Hot Tub Time Machine with a John Woo bullet fest? Well, you get the upcoming HULU original Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice which has to be seen just by the name alone. Starring a bevy of talent including James Masden, Eiza Gonzalez and Vince Vaughn, this batshit looking comedy filled with endless rounds of ammunition and some serious comedic bite looks like a deliriously eclectic good time. The film is a hilarious, stylized, R-rated action-comedy about two gangsters and the woman they love trying to survive the most dangerous night of their lives. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s one wild ingredient added to the mix: a time machine.
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice will receive its world premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival 2026 on March 14. The film will screen at the historic Paramount Theatre in Austin as part of the festival’s official line-up.
I can’t remember the last time we got an off the wall, balls out time traveling actioner with enough dark humor to fill two movies. This looks ludicrous, unapologetic and completely crazy in the best way possible, and the cast looks all in. Combining the dynamics of a Gun Fu stylized action pic with full throttle comedy is a stroke of genius and I cannot wait to seriously indulge in all that this has to offer. Hell, this just might make an action star out of James Masden and I’m all for it. To sweeten an already promising film, we also get Lewis Tan in the mix and here’s hoping that they let him loose to do his martial arts action thang. Let’s fucking go!
