It was a long day at work but as I head off to bed, I must post the new trailer for prolific filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s next epic and boy is it ever epic. The Odyssey is one of the oldest tales to be told and Nolan is giving it the sizable treatment that it deserves and judging from this first teaser, audiences will most assuredly marvel at the grand scale, scope and ambitious undertaking this film has going for it. Not to forget that stacked cast with Matt Damon looking like the ripped action hero he was always meant to play and that’s including being Jason Bourne!
Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX® film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX® film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
The Odyssey stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong’o, with Zendaya and Charlize Theron. Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Samantha Morton, Ryan Hurst, Logan Marshall-Green, Josh Stewart, Benny Safdie, Corey Hawkins, and Elyes Gabel also round out the sensational supporting cast.
The Odyssey is produced by Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan for their company, Syncopy. The executive producer is Thomas Hayslip.

The Odyssey doesn’t will not hit theaters until the summer of next year, although lucky audiences were treated to a very special 5 minute first look of the film this past weekend in select IMAX screens. The prologue debuted in front of IMAX 70mm screenings of Ryan Coogler’s Sinners and One Battle After Another with Leonardo DiCaprio, and while I have yet to see it as I’m sure it will make its way onto the web, the reactions were stellar to say the least. It was only a tiny sampling of the behemoth yet to come but viewers praised the sequence using words like breathtaking, jaw-dropping and probably the biggest movie ever to be made. High praise but Nolan never disappoints and this one looks to be as advertised. The hype for The Odyssey will undoubtedly increase as the release date gets closer and we see more trailers for the film release.
