The concept of my favorite superheroes going rogue or just plain bad has always been an intriguing one for me. Sure, there are anti-heroes to be had like The Punisher and Wolverine but what if an iconic hero went full on evil? That’s the apocalyptic premise for Marvel Studios’ latest animated limited series hitting Disney+ this month. Based off the blockbuster comic book, get ready because Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye and a lot of other fan favorites are going to die and get reanimated in the blood soaked, not for the kiddies series Marvel Zombies.
The trailer is now online and with it a whole lot of gore and rad action complete with head banging music and…wait…is that Balde I see in the trailer rocking the Moon Knight mantle? Sign me up as this looks to be the shot of undead adrenaline that the stagnant MCU needs right now so scroll below as the MCU goes full-throttle apocalyptic in the new trailer below complete with some fresh stills!
Official Synopsis: “After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world.”
The stacked voice cast is a who’s who of the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Awkwafina as Katy, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Iron Heart, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, and Todd Williams as Eric Brooks/Blade.
It’s important to note that Mahershala Ali is not voicing the Blade/Monn Knight character as it is Todd Williams. This begs the question if Ali is still attached to the role if there is ever a live action Blade MCU film. Anyway, I’m all in as the trailer is hyper-violent and the images of our most iconic heroes going zombie is unsettling to say the least. The action looks fierce, kinetic and balls out and how rad is it to see Spider-Man slicing up a horde of undead while swinging through the air. Top tier and this is the adult oriented tone the MCU is lacking in its live action.
Marvel Television’s Marvel Zombies will hit Disney+ on September 24, 2025, as a 4-part limited series and will be a part of Phase 6 of the MCU!
