Many feel the comic cons have forsaken the tried-and-true reason why they were created in the first place and that is to actually celebrate and promote the art of comic books. It is true that annual events have evolved into pop culture phenomenon dealing with film, TV, video games and more but there is still comic book fandom to behold and a plethora of it as well.
There were many exciting announcements made involving the media of comics including Skybound teasing what’s next for their Energon Universe and especial G.I. Joe which you can check out below!
Other exciting surprises included that IDW Publishing will wage war between the Heroes in a Half-Shell and the King of Monsters as they are set to give fans what they want in the limited series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs Godzilla. Godzilla has been reigning havoc on the Marvel Universe as of late but now he has his sights set on our four favorite turtles and the results are going to be savage. Check out the cover below!

Both IPs have relaunched recently at IDW so it was only fitting that the two icons should center the ring. The creative team behind this ambitious endeavor are writer Tim Seeley and artist Fero Pe. Seeley is no stranger the iconic Kaiju as he has been writing the main Godzilla series for a while. Pe has also illustrated TMNT X Stranger Things which came out in 2023 so this new series is in very good hands. The synopsis behind the event will focus on “how the Foot Clan was originally formed to defend Japan from kaiju. Shredder, the leader of the Foot Clan, may be behind Godzilla’s emergence in order to build a kaiju army.”
Any way you slice it or stomp on it, we all win because these two legendary franchises are about to collide with catastrophic results. Check out the variant covers for issue 1 below!

The synopsis the limited series reads: “It’s World War II and Hydra seeks a new weapon to defeat the Allies and win the war. To that end, the Red Skull has sent Baron Strucker on an expedition to the Himalayas to find the fabled city of Atilan. But instead of finding the Inhumans, Strucker uncovers something much more deadly. Much more… Alien. Can Captain America and the Howling Commandoes stop the Skull and his newfound xenomorph weapons… or will the First Avenger learn that in war-torn Europe… no one can hear you scream?”
