Apple TV+ is doubling down on exclusive movies, and they have partnered with one of the most prolific filmmakers of today in Guy Ritchie for their upcoming Indiana Jones style, globetrotting adventure Fountain of Youth. Boasting a sensational cast including John Krasinski, Natalie Portman and Eiza González, this one looks to bring back the throwback serial vibe that such classic films like Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark did back in the day. Fountain of Youth follows two estranged siblings who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality.
Domhnall Gleeson, Arian Moayed, Laz Alonso, Carmen Ejogo, and Stanley Tucci round out the A list cast.
One can also take in Nicolas Cage’s successful National Treasure films as a possible aesthetic template for this movie, but Ritchie has been crushing it as of late especially in the action genre with plausible entries like Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune with Jason Statham as well as the bombastic and crowd pleasing The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare with Henry Cavill. Ritchie also has the highly anticipated thriller In the Grey starring Cavill as well and Jake Gyllenhaal who was featured in the outstanding war pic Guy Ritchie’s the Covenant.
