It’s late Saturday night and after a long day at work, I came home to see that martial arts and action film icon Richard Norton has passed away. This is a real gut punch as I have been a fan of his since the early 80’s. So many movies, so many awesome moments. He was an extraordinary talent with charisma to spare. His movements were flawless and precise and he was truly poetry in motion with devastating results.
This really hurts as it is compounded by the fact that I was actually speaking with him to set up an interview on my podcast. He was more than happy to fit me into his busy schedule and we were going to talk about his illustrious career and films.

He starred in so many of my favorite action films, where do I start? From his many collaborations with fellow martial arts action icon Cynthia Rothrock like Lady Dragon, Rage and Honor 1 & 2, and the China O’ Brien films to countless other favorites of mine like Under the Gun, Death Fight (AKA Rage), and, of course, The Octagon where he took on Chuck Norris, Norton radiated raw charisma and ferocious martial skills. He was truly one of the greats and he will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Judy and his endless stream of family, friends and those he touched with his generosity and love.
I am processing this right now, but I will be doing a special podcast episode to honor Richard and everything that he gave us.

Yea, this one hurts a lot. R.I.P. to one of the legit bad asses both on and off the screen…
