Sony Entertainment is bringing the retro vibes with the official trailer for Van Damme’s latest which is the sequel Kill ‘Em All 2. Complete with trailer voiceover (although a pale imitation), which fans got in the heyday of the 80’s and 90’s, JCVD breaks out his punishing moves as the brother of a criminal he took down is looking for some payback. Even though the first one didn’t warrant a sequel, here it is anyways and from the new footage, it hopefully contains more action and fight sequences than the original. Scroll below for the newest Van Dammage!
Official Synopsis: Seven years after the events of KILL ‘EM ALL, retired spy Phillip (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and his long-lost daughter, Vanessa, are living peacefully off the grid in Italy. But when their whereabouts are discovered by Vlad, the vengeful brother of their previous target, they must do anything it takes to escape his merciless army. On the run, outnumbered, and fighting for their lives, father and daughter unite to save themselves and the village that Phillip once called home. To defeat Vlad’s men and rescue the innocent lives they’ve endangered, Phillip and Vanessa know the job isn’t done until the last bullet is fired.

The first film was helmed by Van Damme’s longtime collaborator Peter Malota (Double Impact) but this time, directing duties were done by Valeri Milev (Re-Kill) from a script penned by JimAgnew who is best known for Nicolas Cage’s revenge thriller Rage. Re-Kill was a guilty pleasure at best with a small appearance by a younger Scott Adkins, but that film was forgettable as well so I’m not holding my breath on this one although the trailer is packed either plentiful brutality. We shall see if the entire film lives up to the teaser.
Sony is releasing Kill ‘Em All 2 this September 24th on Digital Platforms. That’s next week already so there hasn’t been a lot of hoopla over this one either the trailer hitting a mere week before release.
