The first season of Special Ops: Lioness, now formerly known as only Lioness, was a pro/con affair for me as I enjoyed the series but had major issues with pacing and plot. On one hand, I loved Star Zoe Saldana’s role as a tough as nails special operations leader who is in charge of training and initiating undercover agents (AKA Lionesses) into terrorists cells to destroy them from within. On the other hand, I thought the drama got to soap operaish in the middle lagging the pacing considerably. I also loved the group dynamic between Saldana and her elite team and wanted more of that.
Regardless of my gripes, I still thought the first season was solid and was excited when a second round was ordered by Paramount Plus. Hopefully, they fixed the issues I had with it this time around with more team interaction and battle action and a trailer is now online showcasing the military action and heavy handed drama.
