He came in peace, but his adversaries left in pieces! During the late 80’s and 90’s, German import Matthias Hues was one of the premiere action stars in the business. A formidable, charismatic and lethally skilled on-screen fighter, Hues was the go-to guy when action films needed a top tier bad guy to take on the film’s hero. From such iconic action films such as No Retreat No Surrender 2, I Come in Peace, TC 2000, and Talons of the Eagle, Hues has taken on the best that the genre has to offer and is still going strong today starring in recent action pics like Gunfight at Rio Bravo and the soon to be released The Last Kumite which is a homage to all the glorious martial arts action films of the 80’s and 90’s.
In this exclusive chat on The Action fix Podcast, we cover it all including Hues’ martial arts background, getting started in the industry and we delve deep behind the scenes on all of his most influential action movies and fight scenes of the golden era of DTV VHS action.
