Fans of action cinema are always looking for unapologetic and unforgiving brutal and bloody action epics and over the last few years, Independent Cinema has been answering the call with a deluge of ferocious entries in the genre like Exiled: The Chosen Ones, Scott Adkins’ Avengement and most recently One-Percent Warrior with Tak Sakaguchi to just name a few off the top of my head. I could go on but then this article would need chapters and by then, you’d already stop reading. Mostly free from production company interference, Indie Action crosses the line all the time to deliver the most savage and breakneck adrenaline to ever be captured on film which culminates with insane action and fight choreography and over the top characters to fill the running time and leave action disciples sweaty and satisfied.
A big shout out goes to my action brother from another mother Preston Downey AKA That Phat Samurai Guy for inviting me in on The Movie Dojo Podcast and a special, exclusive announcement of a new Indie Action Pic that promises all the above when you mention brutal violence and jaw dropping action. Samurai always has the connections in the industry and now we want to tell you all about an incoming Indie Action project called Cell 20 from action star and filmmaker Sandeep J.L. who is known for putting out the action pic Outrage. To sweeten this deal, Sundip is utilizing some serious action star firepower in the forms of Sampath Ram (THE GREAT ESCAPE), Simon Kook (Ip Man 3) and Ron Smoorenberg (Triple Threat).
A new teaser poster has been unleashed courtesy of Sundip which is just enough to whet your appetite while at the same time making you want to know more. Unfortunately, we don’t know a lot about Cell 20 at the moment besides the stars and director and one bad ass one sheet (which you can see below) with a lone warrior, one lethal sword and a bevy of adversaries to face off with but the Intel will start flooding soon.
