Genre staple Dermot Mulroney is building up quite the action resume as of late with starring roles in such adrenaline laced titles like Section 8, Agent Game and now the new revenge thriller Ruthless. From veteran martial arts and action director Art Camacho, Mulroney is a father looking for a little payback when his daughter is murdered.
Official Synopsis: Harry (Dermot Mulroney) is a high school wrestling coach recovering from the loss of his daughter who was murdered in a brutal attack. When one of his students disappears under conditions eerily similar to his daughter’s, Harry takes matters into his own hands to hunt down the men responsible for her kidnapping and will stop at nothing to rescue her from their human trafficking operation.
Mulroney stars along with another genre icon in Jeff Fahey with Melissa Diaz, Mauricio Mendoza, Tonantzin Esparza, and Niko Foster rounding out the cast. Camacho pens the script as well along with James Dean Simington, Javier Reyna and Koji Steven Sakai.
Revenge thrillers are a dime a dozen these days so it’ll be interesting to see if this one can break from the pack. Mulroney is always solid in any role and here he is definitely going to be ruthless judging from the new trailer.
The plot here actually spices it up a little as Mulroney’s character of Harry takes out his frustrations by trying to save one of his students from suffering the sane fate of his daughter. With Camacho at the helm and his decades of experience in all things action on screen, fans can expect plenty to fist pump at upon initial viewings.
Saban Films will release Camacho’s Ruthless movie on Digital and VOD on December 15th, 2023. Brutality will most certainly be on the menu here so Lock N Load for more to come.
