The Expendables are coming and action fans can’t get any more excited for what amounts to be the most anticipated action film of the year. Hitting hard with R rated action, this mission looks to be the most daring and high-octane yet.
Who remembers when Jason Statham was going to star with Tony Jaa in an action movie called High Value Target which was to be set on a ship? Well, I do and I am extremely upset that this project never came to fruition. Teaming The Stath with Jaa would have been action dynamite for fans worldwide.
Well, it may not be that movie but Statham and Jaa are finally teaming up onscreen in Expend4bles and wouldn’t you know it as the finale is set on an ocean going ship with two of the biggest action stars fighting a gauntlet of adversaries side by side. I wouldn’t be surprised if Statham and Jaa insisted that this set piece be included as an homage to that failed project. I actually write a piece on that movie when it was announced in development on my defunct website platform. Too bad I can’t get it back for nostalgia sake.
Statham recently took to his official Instagram page to share some bone crunching behind the scenes images of his character Lee Christmas fending off bad guys with Tony Jaa. It’s enough to make you salivate and September 22nd can’t get here fast enough. Take a look at the images below!
Seriously people! If that’s not enough to make you want to see this movie (if the Red Band Trailer wasn’t enough that is) then I cannot help you. This movie is going to be En Fuego and once again we owe it to another acclaimed stunt professional turned filmmaker Scott Waugh (Act Of Valor) for directing this action extravaganza.
