It’s been quite sometime since Costas Mandylor has headlined a movie so I’m eagerly awaiting the new apocalyptic thriller BLOODTHIRST as the genre favorite is tackling the role of vampire hunter. Throw in the always game genre baddie Robert LaSardo (who has made playing villains an art form) and his tats and this one has the possibility of being a new Halloween tradition.
Lionsgate has issued new key art, images and trailer for a release date on Halloween so partake in the bloodletting below!
SYNOPSIS: After the apocalypse, only two tribes remain: desperate humans and the roving vampires that feed on them. Across the desolate West, John Shepard (Costas Mandylor, Saw IV) seeks the aging head vampire, hoping to destroy him and free mankind. But when Shepard and his posse of native sons and farmers’ daughters joins forces with a local militia, they learn that they’re closer to the Master than they think. This horror-thriller also stars Tara Reid (American Pie) and Robert LaSardo (“Nip/Tuck”).
The post-apocalyptic BLOODTHIRST, starring Costas Mandylor and Tara Reid is coming to On Demand, Digital and DVD October 31 from Lionsgate. Mad Max meets From Dusk Till’ Dawn in this horror adventure that follows the last tribe on earth as they seek to save themselves (and humanity) from a band of roving, wasteland vampires.
Mandylor has been relegated to cameos and smaller roles over recent years so it’s great to see him don the anti-hero persona for this bloody tale as he’s front and center for the action. Sure the plot has been done but it’s always a good time to watch humans battle it out with vampires as weapons galore fill the action sequences. Plus Mandylor uses a crossbow so what’s not kick ass about that as this one is sporting a post apocalyptic western vibe complete with Mandylor wearing a 10 gallon hat.
