SDCC 2022- Chris Pine Leads a Role Playing Fantasy Epic in the Full Trailer for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES

It’s no secret that actor Chris Pine is now officially considered my favorite actor. I know he personally had nothing to do with my quote to The Contractor showing up on the front of all DVD and Blu-Ray copies of the movie right next to his handsome face but hey it’s still his movie so I’ll give the actor some credit and the benefit of the doubt and would like to think that he read my awesomely rad quote along with my name and website but I digress…

Get ready to get your role playing freak on! Pine is back as Hollywood takes another stab at a live action adaptation of the ever popular Dungeons & Dragons game franchise and here’s hoping that this one is a little better than the appalling ones that came years before. I still can’t think which movie was worse, the first one that made it into theaters or the SyFy premiere follow up that hit cable a few years later.

Titled Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, a new trailer has hit today during the film’s panel at the 2022 SDCC and we have it for you in the player below along with new key art if you’re curious to see how it looks.

Official Synopsis: A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.

Starring along with Pine is a solid cast including Michelle Rodriguez (F9: The Fast Saga), Regé-Jean Page (The Gray Man), Justice Smith (Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom), Sophia Lillis (It Chapter Two), Chloe Coleman (My Spy), Daisy Head (Wrong Turn) and Hugh Grant (The Gentlemen). Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley share directing duties here this time around.

The initial teaser doesn’t look half bad but I’m remaining cautiously optimistic here. Pine looks heroic as always and I must say that I’m a sucker for some sword and sorcery mischief onscreen. I’m sure they’ll be die hard fans who’ll complain about everything under the sun when it comes to this but from someone who hasn’t spent a minute playing the game, I’ll check it out. After all, dragons are like ninjas. They simply make any movie better.

If you’re like me and you are unable to attend the event in person, check out the panel for D&D in the video below and listen to the stars including Pine chat up the film for your excitement!

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves roars into theaters on March 3, 2023.
