Today is Star Wars Day and you know that Disney would debut a little something special to help celebrate the occasion. Behold! You will find below, new key art that is sublime along with a rousing new extended trailer for the highly anticipated Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The five-year-old kid in me has been transported back to the summer of 1977 as this series, which sees Ewan McGregor return to the iconic role of the Jedi warrior that he made famous in the prequel series. Hayden Christensen returns as well as Anakin Skywalker who is now in full on Darth Vader mode so do yourself a favor and watch the rousing new trailer below!
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi” is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.
I really don’t know where to begin as the trailer looks and feels like a Star Wars movie that is hitting the theaters. From the breathtaking visuals to the iconic breathing of Vader that is heard at the end of the trailer, this looks to be like it’s shaping up to be the Star Wars film we have been waiting for after the mixed result that was the last sequel series. There’s action, drama and a heartfelt story to be told and I’ll be on board for the six-part event series from the get-go.
May the 4th be with you and here’s to May 27th when Obi-Wan Kenobi officially launches on Disney+!
