Netflix is keeping it real in April as the streaming giant is set to release a new thriller inspired by true events. The film is called Silverton Siege and it tells the true story of three South African rebels who take over a bank and demand the immediate release of Nelson Mandela. Things went awry of course which led to a taut and tense stand-off between law enforcement and the desperate freedom fighters.
A new trailer has dropped today along with official key art featuring copious amounts of drama and action. Plus it stars the one and only Arnold Vosloo to boot!
Official Synopsis: Following a high-speed car chase with the police after a thwarted sabotage mission, the trio end up seeking refuge in a South African bank in Silverton, Pretoria. Taking the bank and its customers hostage, they demand the release of Nelson Mandela in exchange for release of the prisoners.

Helmed by Mandla Dube, the film also stars Thabo Rametsi, Noxolo Dlamini and Stefan Erasmus.
Silverton Siege is set to premiere on Netflix on April 27th which coincides with South Africa’s Freedom Day
