When discussing top notch action cinema from overseas, one has to mention the 2019 Vietnamese actioner Furie which headlined sensational actress Veronica Ngo. The film was loaded with spectacular fight and action sequences and Ngo really brought a dramatic punch to the proceedings as well.
Ngo has been featured prominently in western blockbusters too including Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Netflix’s Bright so mainstream audiences have also has a taste of what the versatile actress and filmmaker has to offer. Action cinema aficionados will also know her high-octane work from the hard core Vietnamese actioners The Rebel and Clash which teamed her with Johnny Tri Nguyen (The Protector).
Ngo is back with a prequel to her international hit Furie aptly titled Furies although this time she will only be involved behind the camera. Ngo helmed the pic via her Studio68 production banner and this time the movie will star Dong Anh Quynh who will be portraying a younger version of Thanh Soi who was played by Trần Thanh Hoa in original film.
New key art and a teaser has surfaced for the project which will tell the story of how Thanh Soi turned from an innocent girl to a hardened criminal during the 90’s in Saigon.

Additional cast members also include Rima Thanh Vy, Thuan Nguyen, Song Luan as well as Vietnamese recording artist Toc Tien. Samuel Kefi Abrikh, who choreographed the fighting carnage in the first film, is bs k to assume duties once again. Aaron Toronto pens the script which will see Bey Logan serve as a producer.
Furies will see a domestic Vietnamese launch in theaters on April 2nd but expect more international distribution news to follow suit just like the original movie which was released over here from Well Go USA. Watch the new teaser below!
