LIGHTS OUT: Frank Grillo & Scott Adkins Enlist for Director Christian Sesma’s Underground Fight Flick!

By: John M Jerva

Here’s some welcoming news that graced my email as I returned home from my physical therapy session. It would appear that two of my favorite action stars are set to team up for a new underground fight film from Every Last One of Them and Section eight director Christian Sesma. The new pic is aptly titled Lights Out and it will star none other than Frank Grillo and Scott Adkins which pretty much makes this an instant must see flick for whatever year it finally comes out.

Per Deadline who broke the news: The movie will follow a drifting ex-soldier (Grillo) who turns underground fighter with the help of a just released ex-con, pitting him against corrupt cops and hired killers now gunning for him and all those he cares about.

I don’t know about you, but that plotline is right in my wheelhouse and here’s hoping that both Grillo and Adkins will be able to let loose their skill set on some unfortunate cronies. To sweeten this announcement, Lights Out was penned by the one and only Chad Law (Daylight’s End, Section Eight) along with Garry Charles (Welcome To Acapulco).

“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with this brilliant cast led by Frank Grillo. Frank and the rest of the cast’s commitment is unparalleled, and I can’t wait to share this action-packed thrill ride that we’re cooking up. Strap in,” said Brandon Burrows of Firebrand who will be producing the film.

Grillo and Adkins will star along with Mekhi Phifer (Truth Be Told) and Dermot Mulroney (Section Eight, Hanna). The film is currently in pre-production so unfortunately, we have a little bit of a wait for this one to reach the finish line but it’s on my radar now.

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more info to follow as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!
