Production is well underway on HBOMAX’s latest foray into the DCEU with Batgirl. The movie, which is based on DC’s New 52 run of comics and we have our first official look of star Leslie Grace all suited up and she definitely looks like she was plucked from the pages of the comics. Take a look below courtesy of Miss Grace herself!

To go along with the new image, Grace even shared a rad new quote that sums up Batgirl’s foray into her Year One of crime fighting.

“I use their expectations against them. That will be their weakness. Not mine. Let them all underestimate me…

And when their guard is down, and their pride is rising, let me kick their butts.”

– Batgirl, Year One

Helmed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah’s (Bad Boys For Life), the biggest news is that Michael Keaton, who will also be in The Flash, will make an appearance here as well as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Also starring is Brendan Fraser who will play the main antagonist of the film. J.K. Simmons will also reprise his role of Commissioner Gordon. Christina Hodson, who also penned Birds of Prey and the upcoming The Flash, wrote the script.

Warner Bros and HBOMAX announced a while back that they were going big with their skate of DC films which some will hit theaters like The Batman and some will be exclusives for the streaming service. Batgirl is the first of many high profile DC films that will premiere solely on the service and it looks like they’re upping the ante including Keaton in the mix.

Batgirl has no official release date but expect it later this year or early in 2023.
