EXPENDABLES 4 Updates: More BTS Images Show a Potential Showdown for Statham & Jaa!

By: John M Jerva

Expendables 4 is now shooting and even though Stallone has said farewell, the rest of the cast are still working harder than ever on the newest entry in the blockbuster franchise. There was quite the internet storm this week as images of Jason Statham taking on bad guy Iko Uwais surfaced. The shots showcase some pretty stellar action between the two and it definitely looks promising for the fourth film.

More images have been released which showcase a potential fight between The Stath and the movie’s other Asian action powerhouse in Tony Jaa. The two pics shows off what looks like Statham and Jaa rehearsing a fight sequence and the use of a long broom is also seen in the pics. Take a look below.

Jaa’s role is still unconfirmed so it’s still unclear if he’s good or bad so this potential fight might just be a misunderstanding between Jaa and Statham’s Lee Christmas. We are in a holding pattern n when it comes to the plot but we do know that Uwais is the main villain and he has a lethal army at his disposal. It’s also well known that Statham is taking command this time after Stallone has essentially passed the torch to him.

Stallone has said in the past that if a fourth film was made, it would definitely be rated R unlike the third movie which tried to reach a wider audience.

Sylvester Stallone while promoting The Expendables 3 (2014) DVD/Blu-ray release of the movie, Stallone commented that if a fourth film happens, it will definitely be R-rated unlike the PG-13 rated The Expendables 3(2014) as he states on the matter: “Absolutely unequivocally yes,” he confirmed. “I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I’m quite certain it won’t happen again.” Per IMDb

Stallone is back with Jason Statham, Randy Couture and Dolph Lundgren as the original cast. Other new additions include Megan Fox, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Andy Garcia. International action stars Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais also have roles with the latter playing the main villain.

Stunt pro Scott Waugh takes over in the director’s chair and he helms from a script penned by Spenser Cohen with current revisions turned in by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly.
