The Action Elite Live: The War Room- Discussing the Underrated Schwarzenegger Action-Comedy LAST ACTION HERO

By: John M Jerva

This week on The War Room over at The Action Elite, Eoin along with J-Man and Stephen discuss one of the curious entries in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s filmography. The movie is Last Action Hero and upon it’s initial release back in 1993, the movie wasn’t well received and Schwarzenegger himself considered this movie the initial ending of his career. I think he survived just fine.

Say what you will, Last Action Hero is a fun send up of action films which plenty of winks and nudges to action fans and if you know what it’s trying to do then you’ll have a good time with it. It’s an action movie, a comedy and a satirical look at the genre we all know and love with Arnie basically making fun of himself. It’s a fun movie with exciting action set pieces and a larger than life action star essentially playing himself.
