Prolific action director Daniel Zirilli (Hollow Point, Invincible) is back and this time he’s bringing some acting heavyweights for his latest thriller Renegades. The film which is a part of Zirilli’s Shogun Films production banner is ready to hit the American Film Market in November and Bleiberg Entertainment has picked the film up for international sales at the week long event.

Starring Nick Moran, the Six Million Dollar Man himself Lee Majors and the always welcome Danny Trejo, Renegades “follows a group of Special Forces veterans who come together to avenge a fallen comrade – a former green beret, who is murdered in London by a ruthless drugs gang.”
The movie also stars Louis Mandylor (The Debt Collector films) along with Ian Ogilvy (We Still Kill the Old Way), Patsy Kensit (“Lethal Weapon 2”), Billy Murray (“Rise of the Footsoldier”), Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott (“Nemesis”), Michael Paré (“Hollow Point”) Paul Barber (“The Full Monty”), Stephanie Beacham (“Dynasty”) and Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister (“The Fifth Element”) which is one of his last movies he made before sadly passing away.
“Directing this incredible ensemble cast in the streets of London was a dream come true. I’ve made many action films, but the level of acting talent, story and beautiful locations, puts ‘Renegades’ on the next level for me,” Zirilli said in an official statement. Per Variety
Tom Jolliffe penned the screenplay which is based on a story by Jolliffe and producer Jonathan Sothcott.
This is the first of several movies for Zirilli’s Shogun Films production banner and was filmed in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Other upcoming movies in the Shogun Films Production slate include:
The mall siege thriller “Crossfire,” written by Chad Law and Josh Ridgway, unconventional cop team-up “Crackdown” from Jolliffe and retirement home-set 80s action movie love letter “Assault On Hazard Rock,” also penned by Law and Ridgway from an idea by David Gregory. Shogun also has mafia revenge thriller “Eyewitness” in development. Per Variety
Zirilli’s Shogun Films Productions Banner is looking to bring some old school, throwback action back to the genre. It’s slate of films are resurrecting the types of action films that made it fun to watch the genre back in the 80’s and 90’s and as an avid lover of all things old school action, I’m definitely on board.
Plus with names like Zirilli, Chad Law and Josh Ridgway involved with these projects, action fans will find much to love about what Shogun Films is doing for the state of action cinema and keeping the old school vibe alive and well.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come with Renegades and other movies from Shogun Films as we are your destination for everything action!
